An extensive meeting on the issue of US and UK sanctions on natural and legal persons in Cyprus, chaired by Nicos Christodoulides, has concluded at the Presidential Palace.
The President of the Republic stated in his remarks, "we will do everything possible not to allow anyone to tarnish the name of our country." We must view this development as an opportunity to finally put an end to this issue; we cannot continue to discuss it."
When asked if the government had received any information from the United States or the United Kingdom, the President replied, "When there is more, you can be sure that I will let you know."
The Finance and Justice Ministers, the Attorney General, the Assistant Attorney General, the Governor of the CPS, the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Cyprus Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Cyprus Bar Association, and other officials attended the meeting.
